It is surprising that I’m writing a post regarding my excitement about the teacher in-service website. There is no shortage of sites that have a host of videos trying to train teachers about various subjects. The problem with all of the sites is that most of the videos you find are painfully boring to watch, and seemed to drag on forever.
Kyte Learning is an exception to this rule. So far I have only been through a few of the tutorials, but they were both interesting, very focused, and provided me with everything I needed to know to get started. The complete courses range from 30 minutes up to an hour and a half depending on the difficulty of the software or skill they are trying to teach. The presenters have seen so far have been entertaining, clear, and easy to understand.
Kyte Learning is primarily focused on working with technology in education. Currently, there are many topics that are covered, but there still seem to be a lot of areas that they can continue to grow. Based on some of my discussions with people from the company, they are still actively growing their content library.
You can set up a free account that will let you preview some of the content and see if it’s a good match for you, if you like what you see the subscription will cost you seven dollars a month, or $75 a year. With the current content library, I think that seven dollars a month is a fair price, but as they continue to grow it will quickly become a bargain. I just hope that they will leave this price structure intact, rather than raising it as their library grows.
This is definitely very useful for people and I think more people and teachers are to take advantage of this. I appreciate this information very much as I am currently thinking about going into teaching and this is going to be very helpful for me in the future. I will be bookmarking your site because I can definitely see that you provide very valuable information
Thank you for your comments. I will defiantly continue to try to put valuable content here.
Thank you so much for sharing how Kyte Learning is such a good resource for interesting, focused, targeted teacher training videos. It’s no good to take a training module if it’s going to be so boring that you can’t actively stay engaged with either the medium or the trainer. It’s good to know there is a free offer to try it out personally before making the modest investment in a paid account. Thank you!
Your Welcome. It is a great resource that I’ve used for a few years now.
This is an excellent resource for teachers as technology changes constantly, it is essential that teachers keep up to date, so that they are teaching up to date information. The last thing any teacher wants is for the kids in their class to be telling them they are out of date!
I agree that sometimes training can be very dry and far from interesting, so it is great that Kyte have actually created training that is enjoyable. It will certainly make the learning process a lot easier and more enjoyable for teachers. You will probably actually learn more from it too. You will also possibly be able to use the same techniques for their own delivery.
Thank you for your comments.
Thanks for your honest thoughts about this. It can’t hurt to check out Kyte Learning since you can sign up for a free account. It’s nice to hear that you are in communication with some of the people that work for them and were reassured that they’re still growing their content into the future. This seems to be a great resource. Technology isn’t my greatest strength so I can get all the help I can get! No one likes to run into all kinds of techy obstacles while trying to teach others lol.
Thanks again!
